US citizens get a free visa waiver on arrival: 30 days, extendable once for 30 more. One of the easiest entries in the Gulf.

Residency runs through employer sponsorship (work visa → QID), family sponsorship if a spouse works there, or property ownership ($200k+ grants temporary residency; $730k+ grants permanent-resident benefits). No nomad visa.
Student pathways
Student visas via universities (Education City hosts US campuses like Georgetown and Northwestern) — a niche but real route.
Work pathways
The standard path: a job offer brings the whole family. Teaching, healthcare, energy and finance are the big expat sectors.
Health insurance: Since 2023, visitors must hold approved visitor health insurance (~QAR 50/month via registered providers). Residents are covered through employer plans.
